All different words & phrases that could mean the same thing.
Second, I recently discovered,
Para Sailing & Para Gliding are actually 2 completely different things.
I thought they were the same (& so do some other people),
but after about an hour of research I realized
Completely different Niche, Product, & Market.
Do Your basic Keyword Research for all your Content & Products.
Research material related to your keywords. Find all the related terms & phrases for the content you are focusing on. Use these related names & phrases in your content & in your metadata.
Websites are penalized for keyword stuffing, (using the same term over and over) but keyword variations are encouraged & rank higher.
Explore Keywords & behaviors that could be Leads or Triggers to your content.
For Example, you may be having difficulty ranking content about a 'Camping Tent' or 'Outdoor Tents',
Maybe you could find more opportunity working with variations that trigger & lead to your specific offer (the Tent)
So, how about.
Expedition Canoe, or Extended Backpacking Adventure,
These people both need tents.
You could use this information to shape the content you create & how you share or market it.
Explore Keyword Variations & also related terms or activities, & their keywords.
Long Tail Keywords
Long tail keywords can be a good way to determine & focus on a market demographic,
& to let your visitors find exactly what they want quickly.
For example, your Camping Tent.
What about it?
Is it a camouflage, military, best, lightweight, waterproof, cold weather, all weather, summer, winter, or maybe all season Camping Tent?
People want to know.
How about your buyer?
Do they look for the
Cheapest, economy, most expensive, high performance, best budget Camping Tent?
Long Tail Keyword research will tell you all this information,
& with it, you can craft higher performing Sites, Content & Ad Campaigns.
Do a bunch of Keyword Research for anything you're going to put online.
Also research Communities & Traffic Sources related to your keywords.
Research other Websites & Products that rank for your keywords.
Look for Groups, Collections & Communities on various Social Media networks.
You can do basic Keyword research with Google Search & Trends.
You can also find many Keyword research tools, software & services that provide keyword analytics & performance data.
Make Sure Your Basic SEO is in Order.
